Entre Vinyes, 'Onirie', Brisat, Penedes, Spain, 2021

Orange wine is one of those things that has caught the imagination of wine drinkers recently. They’re different, unique (in some cases) and often pair wonders with food.

What I enjoy most however about this fantastic expression of Xarel-lo/ Parellada, made from old vines, with 14 days of skin contact. The wine spent approx 8 months ageing in clay amphora.

The result is a wine that is utterly delightfull. A perfect style of orange wine to get those drinkers who wish to experience this style of wine, without being put of forever with volatile acidity & funky aromas (which this isn’t!).

It’s super fresh, fragrant, full of aromas of tangerines, nectarines and this fresh floral aroma too. I love that the palate is lively, I love that the wine isn’t “funky”, yet has a saline quality on the palate that could pair it beautifully with food, or even could be drunk on its own.

Get one whilst you can!
